Anita CopySmith is committed to protecting your privacy. With this in mind, I have created this privacy policy to explain how I use the information you give me and how it is protected.

You’re probably very busy, so I have done my best to keep this as short and straightforward as possible. No legal jargon here!

GDPR

You’ve probably heard about the General Data Protection (GDPR) rules which came into effect on 25 May 2018. GDPR rules require companies to obtain explicit consent before sending people marketing communications. Briefly, GDPR also gives you the right to:

  • Know how your data is being used
  • Retrieve a copy of your data, in a format you can read
  • Request that your data be corrected or deleted

What personal data do I collect?

I only ever collect the bare minimum I need to communicate with you and carry out the work you commission. This usually includes your name, email address and contact telephone number. For invoicing purposes, I may also need your address.

On this website, I use a web form to collect your:

  • Name
  • Email address

I will never sell your data to third parties – because that’s not very nice (and I’m a nice person). If you’re not happy for me to hold any of your personal information, you can email me at info@anitacopysmith.co.uk , and I will promptly delete your data.

Cookies (nom nom)

My site is powered by WordPress.com, which uses cookies. Unfortunately, they are not as yummy as the ones you can get in the shops. These types of cookies are simple text files that are downloaded onto your computer by your web browser when you visit a website.

They are used to record relevant settings for the site you visit. I do not use them to collect any personal information.

Other third party operators (Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) whose code appears on this site may place a cookie on your system, but any data they capture is processed by them and not by Anita CopySmith.

Email subscriptions

I don’t currently have an email subscription list, and therefore hold no information other than blog subscribers, which is stored on the secure WordPress server. I do not use these email addresses or store them on my computer. The only time they are used is when I update my blog with a post and WordPress notifies subscribers automatically of an update. You can unsubscribe any time.

If I do decide to start a newsletter, or other email subscription, in the future, I will ask for your permission before adding you to the list.
